It is with pleasure that I speak of the work that Craig Youl has recently completed on the exterior of our Hawthorn home.
We have a reasonably large property with some difficult access areas. Prior to painting Craig was very attentive to ensure that plants and creepers would be dealt with in the best possible way.
The job commenced on time and all happened according to plan.
At all times Craig was extremely professional, obliging and pleasant to work with. (Even though we changed our mind on paint colours). His employees were similarly obliging and helpful.
The work was of a very high standard and we were totally satisfied.
Several weeks later we had need to call Craig urgently to patch plaster and paint our kitchen. We were installing a new kitchen and had not realized until the old kitchen was removed that work needed to be done prior to the new installation.
Craig obliged and the work was done for us over a weekend and public holiday.
We would not hesitate in recommending Craig. He is professional, obliging, and the paint job excellent.

I have known Craig for approximately ten years. I first met Craig when my wife and I were a seeking the services of a professional painter to handle the painting of our home following an extensive renovation. This was of critical concern for us as we had several bad experiences with painters over the years and were a little battle scarred.
We had enlisted the services of a Dulux colour consultant and as a result we used the Dulux website to find an authorised professional painter endorsed by Dulux. To our surprise there were only two authorised specialists on our area, one being Craig.
Our residence required painting throughout and we were in the process of rendering the exterior. Craig was extremely professional in his approach and we were very impressed with his keen eye to detail in respect to colour selection overall and the correct treatment of the rendered surfacing. The results were extremely pleasing.
Craig and his team were a delight to deal with. They were consistently on time and meticulous on the way they treated the worksite. They were always polite and co-operative and achieved an outstanding result.
Since our initial meeting, we have engaged Craig to handle the painting of various other properties including a Victorian period house in South Yarra we renovated, our new residence in Brighton and our beach house in Blairgowrie. We have also recommended Craig to various friends and colleagues.
I have developed a close relationship with Craig who is an impressive man with high ideals. He is also completely trustworthy and reliable.

I have used Craig's (CD Youl Painting & Decorating) services for over 15 years on numerous occasions and on various houses and properties and have found the service and the quality of finish to be first class.
Craig is very approachable and provides an explanation for the method he intends to use, which then allows for a better understanding of the time and cost associated with the particular project.
Further I have had many friends and associates comment on the finish of painting jobs done by Craig particularly in a property that was recently sold for one of the highest prices achieved in that suburb. Biggin & Scott employed Craig Youl to paint our commercial building real estate building in Frankston. We settled on Craig to do the job for several reasons, firstly he came highly recommended from a client of ours that Craig had done work for in the past. Secondly, as a real estate agent we deal with a lot of tradespeople and unfortunately they are not the most punctual or reliable industry however Craig was refreshingly punctual, reliable and did everything on time and on budget that he promised. We bought a tired old early '80s house with a ghastly colour scheme, so one of our first tasks was to bring it up to date with a fresh ‘dress’. Our Dulux colour consultant recommended three painters, and I asked her whom she would call first if it were her home to be painted. Without hesitating, she replied, “Craig Youl, without a doubt.”
So that's what I did. Craig arrived promptly and talked us through our options and how he’d recommend we approach the job, keeping in mind the property, our vision, and our budget. After meeting Craig and learning about his approach, we decided not to waste our time getting another quote. We knew we could trust him with our home.
And we were right. Craig and his team did a beautiful job on some very difficult surfaces. In fact, I was surprised to see that on one particularly difficult wall, they actually did an extra coat to get the best result. But Craig’s quote remained the same.
A few weeks after the job was finished, we were surprised to receive a call from Craig. He organised a time to visit, review the results, and make sure we were happy. In fact, we were so happy that we used his visit to organise for him to do more work for us!
